Glitnir is a tall gelding with good temperament. He is starting to tölt, but chooses to trot.

Glitnir was raised at the horse-breeding farm Staðartunga in North-Iceland. He has always had professional training: 

• January 2015 when turning 4 years old, he was started in training at the University of Hólar in North-Iceland by one of the students. He was trained for 10 weeks and graduated with good result.
• In June 2015 he went to Stella Sólveig Pálmarsdóttir and Ásmundur Ernir Snorrason who are training him at Strandarhöfuð

Father: his father is the Landsmót winner in A-flokkur Fróði frá Staðartungu (Breeding assessment 8.59)

Mother: his mother is Píla frá Staðartungu, a pinto coloured breeding mare at Staðartunga.
